Awards

There are several awards that are offered each year to Art History majors.

Academic Excellence Award

This award recognizes an outstanding undergraduate student who is majoring in art. Faculty members nominate a student who has achieving excellence in her/his academic work and research or creative activity. Students selected may be at any level in their undergraduate career. They need not be graduating seniors. The Associate Deans in CHASS will choose from among these winners to determine the Outstanding Achievement Award for the College.

Tomás Rivera Award

This award recognizes the academic excellence of two graduating seniors in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences for outstanding academic and/or creative achievement and demonstrated commitment to community service. Students selected must be eligible to participate in the Spring 2008 Commencement ceremony. The faculty of the Art History department can nominate one Art History major to be considered by the college for this award.
